Description Castiglioni Chianti Frescobaldi, 2022 Region: Tuscany, Italy Grape: Sangiovese, Merlot Chianti Castiglioni 2022 is a vibrant ruby red colour. It is a pleasantly fruity wine on the nose, with notes reminiscent of redcurrant, raspberry, more lo cherry and wild strawberry. A beautiful floral sensation on the finish is accompanied by spicy hints of clove. Lively and fresh on the palate with pleasant but never overwhelming tannins . The lovely finish is long, crisp and delicate. Pairs well with savoury dishes such as pappardelle with meat sauce, or alternatively roast chicken, steak with vegetables, or semi-mature cheese. The wine has a rich and complex palate with a firm structure and rounded tannins. It pairs well with red meat dishes, game, and mature cheese. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels and can be enjoyed now or for the next five years.
