70cl | 42% Hand crafted on the wild Cornish Coast, the fully-independent, family-run distillery lays claim to 3 250 litre copper stills called Tamara, Senara and Tressa and 1 500 litre still called Ferarra. 13 botanicals are sourced from all around the world for Tarquins take on the classic French green-fairy, inducing spirit. Green aniseed and fennel from Turkey, star anise from China, liquorice root from Uzbekistan and green cardamom from Guatemala are added to the stills to be macerated overnight in a neutral grain spirits before finally adding gorse flowers in the morning. This process creates a punchy, fennel and earthy liquorice taste with a tickle of black pepper and fragrant orange blossom. It’s very big, it’s very bold and it’s very complex.
