Description Viagra Connect is a treatment for men aged 18 years and older with erectile dysfunction. Viagra Connect contains the active substance sildenafil, a clinically proven treatment for erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence. This ingredient is part of a group of medicines known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, which allows increased blood flow when you are sexually aroused. Viagra Connect will only help you achieve an erection if you are sexually stimulated. What you need to know before taking Viagra Connect: Erectile dysfunction can affect men differently. Some cannot achieve an erection. Others may achieve an erection, but not firm enough for having sex, or they may lose the erection before or during sex. Viagra will only help you achieve an erection if you are sexually aroused. You and your partner should engage in foreplay just as you would if you were not taking a medicine for erectile dysfunction. The time it takes this medicine to work varies from person to person, but it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. You may take it up to 4 hours before sexual activity. Relax and be patient if Viagra does not work the first time. Trying again later is an option, but remember that only one tablet can be taken per day. For most men, Viagra is effective on the first or second attempt. If it has been some time since an erection could be achieved or maintained, a few tries may be needed before seeing the desired effect. If Viagra has been tried and erections are still not possible, consulting a doctor is recommended. How to take: For Oral Use. Swallow whole with water. Always take Viagra exactly as described in the leaflet or advised by your pharmacist or GP. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. If you take more tablets than recommended, contact your pharmacist or doctor immediately. Do not give to individuals under the age of 18. Viagra Connect with food, drink, and alcohol: Viagra can be taken with or without food. However, if you take it with a heavy meal, it may take longer to start working. Do not take with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as this can affect how the medication works. Drinking alcohol can temporarily impair your ability to get an erection. To get the maximum benefit, do not drink excessive amounts of alcohol before taking Viagra. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VIAGRA CONNECT 50MG TABLETS Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine, especially if you are taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medicines, or receiving regular treatment. If you have any history of heart issues or conditions, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Viagra or any of the other ingredients. Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you experience any side effects listed in the patient information leaflet, stop taking Viagra Connect and seek medical help immediately. Viagra Connect can cause dizziness and affect vision. You should be aware of how you react to Viagra before you drive or use machinery. Do not drive or use machines if you suffer from these side effects after taking this medicine. Always read the enclosed information leaflet. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Each tablet contains 50 mg of sildenafil (as citrate). The other ingredients are: Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous), Croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate. Film coat: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose, triacetin and indigo carmine aluminium lake (E 132) DO NOT TAKE VIAGRA CONNECT: If you do not have an erection problem. You are allergic to sildenafil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you have low blood pressure (below 90/50mmHg), which can cause symptoms such as tiredness, dizziness, light-headedness, feeling sick, clammy skin, depression, loss of consciousness or blurry vision. If you are taking medicines called nitrates for chest pain or heart failure, the combination may lead to a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines, which are given for the relief of angina pectoris (or “chest pain”). If you are not certain, ask your doctor or pharmacist. If you are using any of the medicines known as nitric oxide donors, such as amyl nitrite (“poppers”), the combination may also lead to a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. If you are taking riociguat, this drug treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (i.e., high blood pressure) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e., high blood pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots). PDE5 inhibitors, such as Sildenafil, increase the hypotensive effects of this medicine. If you take ritonavir for the treatment of HIV. If you have a severe heart or liver problem. If you have recently had a stroke or a heart attack, or if you have low blood pressure. If you have certain rare inherited eye diseases (such as retinitis pigmentosa). If you have ever had loss of vision due to non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION). If you have a deformed penis. If you are under 18 years of age. If you are a woman.
